Understanding Our Bus Charter Pricing Structure
At Singapore Bus Charter, we believe in transparent and straightforward pricing. Our rates are designed to offer flexibility, whether you need a quick point-to-point transfer or an extended hourly hire. All our quoted rates are all-inclusive
How per-person cost compares to alternatives
The comparisons in the table above assume the bus runs with passengers filling most seats. In practice, groups rarely fill exactly to capacity. A 45-seater carrying 30 people works out to SGD 3.33 per person for a point-to-point transfer. That’s comparable to a single-trip EZ-link fare on public transport — with the added benefit of no transfers, no waiting at interchanges, and door-to-door service.
Against Grab, the gap is more pronounced. A Grab ride from Tampines to Marina Bay for one person runs SGD 18–25 in normal conditions, more during peak hours or rain. Charter 30 people on a 45-seater for SGD 100 and the per-person cost is SGD 3.33. The group doesn’t split, doesn’t wait, and everyone arrives at the same time.
When per-person cost is the wrong metric
For small groups (under 10) going short distances, the fixed cost of charter doesn’t break down favourably per person. A group of 8 from Orchard to Sentosa pays the full SGD 85 (23-seater), which at SGD 10.63 per person is roughly what a Grab would cost each of them anyway — but without the flexibility of individual departure times.
Per-person cost analysis works best for mid-to-large groups (15+) on routes where individual transport would otherwise be expensive or logistically messy — Changi airport runs, outlying industrial estates, or evening events where public transport is sparse.
Calculate your group’s cost
Take your expected passenger count, match it to the right vehicle size, and divide the rate from our price page by that number. If the per-person figure comes out at SGD 5–8, charter is almost certainly your best option. If it’s above SGD 12, consider whether a smaller vehicle (or two groups taking separate Grabs) makes more sense. Contact us with your group size for a personalised recommendation.
