Choosing the Ideal Bus for Your Needs (Beyond Just Seats)

While the maximum passenger count is the primary factor in selecting a bus charter, it’s not the only consideration. To ensure a comfortable and efficient journey for your group, think about these additional points:

Capacity by vehicle type

Singapore Bus Charter operates three vehicle sizes. The 23-seater minibus takes up to 23 passengers. The 45-seater coach holds up to 45 passengers. The 49-seater coach — the largest in our fleet — holds up to 49 passengers. These are the LTA-licensed maximum passenger counts, including the driver’s seat in the count. Do not book a vehicle to its absolute maximum for long or formal trips — a few spare seats makes the journey more comfortable.

Child passengers

Children count as full passengers for capacity purposes. A group of 20 adults and 5 children requires a 25-passenger minimum vehicle — so a 45-seater. Infants on laps are assessed case by case and should be mentioned at booking.

Seated vs standing

All passengers must be seated with seatbelts engaged for the duration of the trip. There is no standing allowance on chartered buses in Singapore — this is an LTA requirement, not a company policy. Bookings where passengers plan to stand are not permissible.

If your group regularly runs slightly over the capacity of the smaller vehicle, the next size up is always the right answer. Overloading is not covered by insurance and puts the operator’s licence at risk. For the right vehicle match and current rates, check our pricing page.
